Professional Development

Professional development is a very important aspect of life at ESIS. Whether your job is running the school, teaching, or supporting the running of the school, all staff are expected to be part of a learning environment.

Each member of staff is helped to build their own professional development plan and is encouraged to develop in ways that they feel are good for them. We encourage participation in all forms of professional development and provide access to IB workshops, IT training, in-service programmes and opportunities both provided by the IBO and other organisations for professional growth.

All new members of staff go through an introductory induction programme and are also assigned to a teaching ‘buddy’ who acts as a contact for daily issues. Each Coordinator is responsible for curriculum issues and guidance. The Head of ESIS will oversee your well-being and appraisal issues during the your first year.
