About European School – International Section (ES-IS)
ES-IS has been created to allow Georgian and international students to develop as learners through the International Baccalaureate programmes. The International Section operates alongside and in the same facility as the European School Georgian Section which together educate over 400 students (K-12). Students in the Georgian Section follow the national curriculum. August 2011 saw the opening of two new floors which comprise the main body of ES-IS with classrooms, cafeteria, conference spaces, social areas, computer rooms and library. Other resources are currently shared between Sextions where teachers collaborate together to ensure the best of both systems.
Facility Description: ES-IS is a registered educational institution of some 90 students from primary to grade 12. The Section is authorised for the Diploma Programme and is currently implementing MYP (AV: May 2012) and PYP (AV: academic year 2012/2013). The holidays are the same for both sections.
The school has its own fleet of minibuses and catering service with a large canteen and smaller café. There are numerous spaces on each floor for relaxation or where, during conferences, coffee and snack points can be set up.
The school is also well-equipped with ICT facilities having many computers, projection units and photocopiers. There is even a television station (ESTV) within the school which can broadcast into classes and TV sets all around the campus. An experienced team of staff members are employed as film-crew and editors and events are usually filmed with presenters/guests able to take away a CD recording of their event.
European School is now officially accredited with the intergovernmental accreditation body EDU
